Tiered services
GT services at the high school are different from the services provided by elementary and middle schools. Students are able to self-select advanced tracks and there are a variety of additional supports offered to students at BMHS. Please have a conversation with your child about the level of support they would like to receive.
Tier 1:
This is the lowest tier of service.
Students will complete the following:
Tier 2:
Student completes Tier 1
AND
-attends EDGE meetings based on needs
-Meets individually with me at least three times a year- if tier 2 of service is selected, then I will pull students even if they do not sign-up to meet with me.
TIER 3:
Student completes Tier 2
AND
Student meets with me/counselor monthly, attends EDGE groups based on needs and completes the supports in the Schoology folders
OPT-OUT
A student who exits the GT program will no longer be provided gifted services; parents and students are removed from the Schoology page and email correspondence. Students do not lose their “GT” identification and are welcome to opt back into services at any time. If your child opted out of GT services during the 2022-23 school year, parents are not required to complete another opt-out form. This will also be the last correspondence that you will receive from me this year. If your child is performing below the 65th percentile on both academic and affective assessments, they will automatically be placed into tier 2, or tier 3 services.
